SOVEREIGN HOTEL

Designed in 1923 by Carl Linde, this nine-story building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. The Georgian-style hotel turned apartment building was deemed, “significant to Portland as one of the best-preserved and most fashionable examples of pre-war multiple housing remaining in the downtown core.” This major renovation and restoration included replacing most of the exterior windows, upgrading existing balconies, restoring the main lobby and updating all of the residential apartments.
